Features
Packed with Features, Easy to Operate. We pack a lot of functionality into the PM5, but we also make sure it’s easy to use. The monitor will power up and provide data as soon as the flywheel starts spinning, so you don’t need to push a single button to get started. If you prefer to dive in to all the functions the monitor provides, the easy menu-driven operation lets you quickly access preset workouts, save favorite workouts, review past workout results and much more.

Power Generation
The PM5 takes two D cell batteries. During your workout, the monitor draws power from the spinning flywheel to extend battery life.

Data and Displays
The PM5 provides distance, speed, pace, Calories, and watts for each workout you do, and you can choose between five display options: all data, force curve, bar chart, large print and having a paceboat/pacer. The PM5’s backlit display provides increased visibility. It illuminates automatically when the monitor powers up and stays illuminated during your workout.

Wireless Connectivity
The PM5 supports both ANT and Bluetooth, allowing you to connect to a wide range of wireless devices. We have our own app, ErgData, which runs on both iOS and Android, and there are a number of other app options out there as well. The PM5 also supports wireless heart rate monitoring if you have a chest belt that supports one of these transmission technologies.

Heart Rate Monitoring
Direct measurement of heart rate during exercise is a powerful tool for maximizing your training. Using a heart rate monitor makes it possible to train at your ideal pace and intensity, boosting your training benefits.

The PM5 provides an easy, powerful platform for heart rate training and supports ANT and Bluetooth Smart for wireless heart rate monitoring. To use this feature, you will need a chest belt that supports either ANT or Bluetooth Smart. All Garmin equipment sold by Concept2 is compatible with the PM5. Please note that the PM5 supports Bluetooth Smart, not Bluetooth, which is a different technology.

When you are using compatible heart rate equipment, the PM5 displays your heart rate data in real time during your workout or as part of your workout results for later analysis.

Racing
The Performance Monitor is ideal for racing and competition. With a PM5, you can compete against your teammates or workout rivals, whether they're in the same room or on another continent. The PM5 supports wired machine to machine racing.
