Napoleon at the Saint-Bernard Pass(1801)
It is one of the five versions of the equestrian portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte painted by French artist Jacques Louis David between 1801 and 1805. Originally commissioned by the King of Spain, this work shows that Napoleon and his army crossed the Alps in May 1800 and crossed the Saint Bernard Pass, leading more than 20,000 troops to raid more than 40,000 troops of the Italian Austrian Empire, Defeated Austria with fewer wins and more, known as the Battle of Marengo.
